When it comes to our flooring projects, there are often additional services that homeowners might want to add to their project. These services can range from baseboard installation to painting and moving contents. In this blog post, we will take a closer look at some of the ancillary services that are commonly offered in our flooring projects and give an indication of how they are priced.

Transparency in Pricing

At Kimminau Floors, we believe in transparency when it comes to pricing. That’s why we provide a line item breakdown of all costs so that our clients understand what they are paying for. This allows clients to pick and choose which services they want to add to their project and tailor the scope to meet their needs and budget.  Our approach to pricing builds trust with clients, as they don’t have to worry about hidden costs or surprises in the final bill.

Base-Shoe Installation

What the heck is baseshoe, isn’t this the same as quarter-round?  Installing new shoe is an integral part of every refinish or installation project.   No need to hire a trim carpenter, our team can handle this for you.  We offer different types of shoe molding including pre-primed, maple, oak, and white oak.  Our stained base shoe installations run between $3.25 to $3.50 per linear foot. Our pre-primed shoe installation is currently $2.75/linear foot.

Painters

painter is an important part of our turnkey solution, as they come in to touch up the trim after the refinishing or installation work is completed. We work with a selective group of professional painters and they usually charge $3.50 per linear foot of trim. So, if you have 300 feet of base shoe, the painting cost would be around $1050. This cost is often listed as optional on the quote, so our clients can shop around or decide if they want to handle the painting themselves.

Movers

Another important aspect of our flooring projects is moving appliances and furniture. We have partnered with a local moving company and have negotiated great rates.  Our movers will move everything out of the way the day before the project starts and return once the finish has cured (usually 48-72 hours). If you have felt pads ready for them, they will be happy to apply those before moving everything back in. Our movers charge a minimum of $300 per visit.  This covers a two-hour visit from two people.  Most projects fall within $700-$800.  Larger projects with piano’s, bedroom furniture, or several large appliances may be a bit higher.

Moving Appliances

Moving appliances can be a challenge, but at Kimminau Floors, we have a solution for that. We use our airsleds to move appliances.  This device will keep the appliances from leaving dents in the floor.  We usually charge $75 per appliance.

Flush Mount Vents

Flush mount vents are a popular addition to flooring projects, as they provide a sleek and seamless look. They are often listed as optional on the quote, and we charge $75 per vent.  This includes material, installation, and finishing.

Summary

In conclusion, these are some of the additional services that we offer at Kimminau Floors.  We believe in transparency in pricing, and we provide a line item breakdown of all costs to help clients understand what they are paying for and give them the flexibility to tailor the scope to meet their needs.
